Easter Mediterranean Lunch

Last Easter Sunday, we spent thirty minutes walking around the Mall of Asia looking for a place to eat. There were so many people, almost all restaurants were packed and some had several groups on queue. Among the few ones with free tables was Cafe Mediterranean, so we decided to have lunch there.

Greek Salad

We began with Cafe Mediterranean's Greek Salad which serving was big enough for sharing. Fresh greens, feta cheese, kalamata olives, and tomatoes drizzled with vinaigrette make up for a good start of the meal.

Kebab Platter

We all wanted kebabs, so we decided to order the platter and have a taste of everything. The waiter said it was only good for two to three persons. Well, maybe two really hungry persons. We were overwhelmed when the food was served--it was big enough for four!

Taisan

Taisan is light chiffon cake brushed with melted butter or margarine and sprinkled with granulated sugar.

small bites of heaven!

This is from Edna's Cakeland, one of the favorite places in Cabanatuan we go to for pastries. It was perfectly light, fluffy and buttery, sprinkled with granulated sugar and grated cheese. It was really good. We finished the entire box in no time!

Edna's Cakeland is located at Kapt. Pepe Subdivision, Cabanatuan City.

Kani Salad

Back in 2009, we spent Holy Week staycationing at Days Hotel Tagaytay. We simply wanted to escape the summer heat in Manila. Most of our activities were sleeping, watching television, and of course, eating. We had this yummy kani salad for lunch before we checked out of the hotel on Easter Sunday.

Filling and healthy

Kani (imitation crab meat rather), julienned cucumbers and carrots, cubed ripe mangoes, and crisp iceberg lettuce with vinaigrette. I can still remember how sweet the mangoes were, it was my favorite part of the dish.

Tagaytay is made for road trips and food trips! There will be definitely more Tagaytay posts to come.
